BALLAST

Red Granite ballast, 1-5mm suitable for O Gauge, or OO gauge if you sieve out the larger 4-5mm rocks. £60 per 5Kg inc delivery. Ideal for Scottish layouts. The image on the left shows it in its natural form. The image on the right shows it after PVA glueing and weathering. The PVA glue darkens it a bit and so it does not really need to be further weathered with sleeper grime, although we have then spray weathered it with black paint on the sleepers. Rails are painted with burnt sienna, which is a good match for rust colouring.
